Two new films for 6/25!

June 24, 2010

Hey there film lovers, the UFS is bringing two new indies to Cherrydale cinemas, starting Friday, 6/25!

First up is tearjerker Mother and Child, starring Annette Benning and Naomi Watts, among other heavy hitters.  The film follows three interweaving stories of women dealing with the emotional ramifications of adoption, and the impact it has on their respective lives and families.

Also this weekend, we’ve got Harry Brown, starring Michael Caine at his hard, cockney best.  Surrounded by teenage violence, the titular milquetoast is pushed to the brink by a close friend’s death, and relies on his dark past to guide him as he seeks his own brand of vigilante justice.

Here’s the media:

Thanks everyone, and see you at the movies!

New film for 6/18

June 17, 2010

The UFS is bringing you another great indie this week!  From gyno-centric auteur Nicole Holofcener (Friends With Money, Lovely & Amazing) comes Please Give, starring Katherine Keener and Oliver Platt.  The story centers on a woman (Keener) struggling with her contrived need to be altruistic, even as she hones in on a dying elderly woman’s attractive New York apartment.  The film opens Friday, 6/18, exclusively at Cherrydale cinemas.

Keep coming out and supporting these great films!  See you at the movies!
