New film for 9/11: Humpday

Another week, another indie offering from your friends at Regal Cinemas, Cherrydale, and of course us here at the Upstate film Society.  This Friday, 9/11/09, we welcome the mumblecore comedy Humpday, from director Lynn Shelton.  This muted farce follows two aging slacker besties as they test the boundaries of male bonding by entering an amateur porn contest together, in the biblical sense.  The catch?  They’re both straight as the GOP.

Not so much about sexual politics, as much as friendship and what it means to be a man, this one has done very well with critics and audiences alike.
